I tried Nvidia GeForce Now on everything I own – could it replace my gaming PC?

Read MoreAmazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that it will allow all existing customers to access quantum computers through its cloud service.
The quantum computers are early-stage models provided by three technology companies—D-Wave Systems Inc., IonQ Inc. and Rigetti Computing—rather than by Amazon itself.
Ahead of the launch, Amazon spent more than eight months testing out these quantum computing platforms on its cloud. Fidelity Investments, the financial behemoth, was one of a handful of companies given early access to the platforms.
Adam Schouela, head of emerging technologies at the Fidelity Center for Emerging Technology, noted that running financial calculations over the cloud-based quantum computers was ‘orders of magnitude faster’ than running the same calculations on traditional computing hardware.
However, Amazon isn’t the only major cloud provider jumping into the quantum computing ring. Microsoft, which is the closest competitor to Amazon in the cloud services space with 18% of the market, has developed its own quantum computers rather than rely on smaller companies. IBM also offers quantum computing services, although it controls less than 2% of the burgeoning cloud market.
Quantum computing is widely seen as the next jump in processing technology. Traditional computers read electrical pulses that are interpreted as strings of ones and zeros. But quantum computers read qubits—particles like photons and electrons rather than electrical pulses—that have some special quantum properties. For example, qubits can be both one and zero at the same time, a phenomenon known as superposition.
These properties enable quantum computers to be vastly more powerful than even today’s most advanced supercomputers. Among other things, they can calculate all possible outcomes of a model simultaneously rather than running simulations in sequence.
The development of quantum computing, along with increased accessibility to quantum computers through the cloud, is expected to have significant impacts on data security, artificial intelligence, financial modeling, and more.

Read MoreThe Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series is the long-rumored upgrade to the company's flagship tablet line, and a new rumor suggests it'll be accompanied by an affordable edition that some are calling the Galaxy Tab S8 Lite. The leak, courtesy of Galaxy Club, says there will be four models of the upcoming tablet, and the Lite model will be the cheapest of the series. The leak doesn't confirm the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Lite name, so the company may opt to call it the Galaxy Tab S8 Fan Edition (as it did with its Galaxy Tab S7 FE tablet). This leak gives two model numbers, which is rumored to be for two different variants of the tablet. Those names are SM-X500 for the Wi-Fi variant and SM-X506B for a 5G-ready version. Previous rumors suggested we'll be seeing a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 with an 11-inch screen, a Galaxy Tab S8 Plus with a 12.4-inch display and a Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra with a mamoth 14.6-inch display. We don't yet know when we'll see these models, or if we'll see them all debut at the same time. Previously, Samsung has waited at least a few months after its main series of tablets debut before bringing out its cheaper model. It may still do similar here, so there's no gurantee we'll see all four of these models at the same time. So when are we likely to see the first models of the Galaxy Tab S8 series appear? As with a lot of gadgets in 2021, the Galaxy Tab S8 series was intitially expected to make its debut earlier this year but it hasn't appeared. Rumors suggest the product has been delayed. Samsung often brings out new flagship Android tablets every 12 months or so, but there's no clear sign of any new devices being revealed before the end of 2021. There are a few clear dates where these may appear, though. A recent rumor suggested the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE may debut at CES 2022 at the very beginning of January. It's unlikely we'll see new tablets debut there, but the company is rumored to be introducing its next flagship phone - that's the Samsung Galaxy S22 - during February this year. It may be that it tags on the Galaxy Tab S8 series (or some models) to make their official appeareance. Either that, or we may be waiting until deeper into 2022 until we hear anything about these new tablets.
Analysis: When could we see these debut?
We’re already seeing developments in accessing Android apps much more easily in Windows 11, thanks to a new tool that installs these apps in one click. WSATools is an app that should make installing and running Android apps in Windows 11 much easier. Since the announcement in June when Windows 11 was showcased with many new features, the arrival of Android apps in Microsoft’s operating system caught some by surprise. While the apps are going to be available in the new Microsoft Store through a partnership with the Amazon App Store, some people wondered whether other Android apps outside of the Store would be able to be used. However, we’re already seeing developers find ways for your favorite Android apps to be made available on Windows 11 regardless of whether they are available on the Amazon App Store or not. First of all, you need to make sure ‘Windows Subsystem for Android’ has been installed to your device. This will ensure that Android apps will be able to be downloaded with no issues. Once this is complete, download WSATools and you’ll now be able to install Android apps in one click. These are usually labelled as ‘.APK’, which is the file format for Android packages once they’re downloaded. An update for WSATools is now available on the Microsoft Store, which fixes the adb installation getting stuck. If you had this bug, please update and let me know if it's solved! The new version is 0.1.55Download: https://t.co/euT4JSqfP6 pic.twitter.com/XJwtQ2upPgNovember 9, 2021 Clicking on one you have downloaded from Google will install the app like any Windows 11 app on your device, and you can log in and use them as you do on your Android smartphone or tablet. There’s always a chance that Microsoft will take this down, especially as it’s being hosted on the Microsoft Store, but it does show the potential for how easy it can now be to use Android apps in Windows 11. You can almost guarantee that independent developers will look to try and make the impossible possible. A few weeks ago you would have had to go through Command Prompt to access Google’s Play Store, and now an Android app can be installed like any other in Windows. Having owned a MacBook Pro 14-inch (2021) for a few weeks now, I’ve been surprised by how well certain iOS and iPadOS apps run in macOS. While some games such as GTA: Vice City are glitchy in their controls, there’s a certain appeal with installing the apps you’ve paid for with no issue on a completely different operating system it was meant for. While Microsoft is taking a different approach with Android apps, WSATools showcases just how well Android apps could be managed and installed if Microsoft and Google decided to allow full access in an official way. Apple allows developers to select a check box on whether an app should be able to be installed in the Mac App Store, or left to the iOS App Store exclusively. Microsoft could do the same here with developers, but I suspect this could be tricky with the deal that the company has with Amazon and its App Store availability in Windows 11. However, we are only in the early days of Android apps in Microsoft’s latest release of Windows. It may be the developers who convince the company that Apple’s method of iOS apps on macOS could be the way to go, rather than a halfway solution. Via WindowsLatestHow to install WSATools
